Fractional product development leadership

You built the brand.I'll build the product.

Twenty years getting physical products engineered, costed, sourced, tooled and onto shelves at Target, Walmart, CVS and Amazon. Now doing it one to two days a week for consumer brands that need a head of product development and aren't ready to hire one.

01 — Sound familiar

The brand works. The product is stuck.

If two or more of these are true, we should talk.

I don't do brand, marketing, logos or websites. You've got that covered — that's usually the problem.

02 — Track record

Twenty years of making physical things, at scale.

01 / Shipped

Products on shelves

50+ consumer products to national retail. Twenty disruptive innovations across Oster, Crockpot, Sunbeam and Holmes. Four issued patents and five provisionals. Connected-home products built with Belkin.

02 / Scaled

Built the function

Joined Fridababy as a project manager, left as Sr. Director of Engineering & Quality — sourcing, engineering, quality and project management under one roof. Revenue grew 300%. Launched a second brand, Fridamom.

03 / Saved

Took out the cost

Seven figures removed through Lean and Six Sigma on live production lines. R&D across seven US manufacturing sites. Built Jarden Life Sciences into the third-largest thermal packaging company in the country inside a year.

03 — How it works

You'll know inside a month whether it's working.

Week 1 – 3

Find the money

I go through your BOMs, supplier agreements, tooling and development calendar and tell you where your cost and your time are actually going. Most founders are surprised by at least one number.

Week 4 – 6

Fix the plan

Re-quote what needs re-quoting, qualify alternate suppliers, rebuild the development calendar backwards from your retail date, and put the launch on a schedule that survives contact with a factory.

Ongoing

Run it

I own the pipeline, manage the suppliers, hold the launch dates and sit in on every decision where engineering costs money. You get your evenings back.

Figure 01 — What a teardown finds

The number you priced around isn't the number you'll pay.

A real example from my own brand: a rigid display box modelled at $22 landed, quoted at 250 units. Tariff and freight are where the plan quietly breaks.

With Love

I'm building one too.

With Love is a consumer brand I'm developing — a box that keeps a new mother fed through the night feeds. I built the first one by hand for my wife.

It has a brand bible, a costed bill of materials, a live tariff analysis and a supplier strategy, because that is what it actually takes and I know what it takes.

That's why I'm useful to you. I'm not advising from a deck — I'm in it at the same time you are.

I'm a mechanical engineer who spent twenty years inside consumer products — first designing them, then running the teams that do.

Eight years at Jarden and Newell Brands: head engineer on Ball, Diamond and Bicycle, then Engineering Program Manager running R&D across seven manufacturing sites, then Principal Development Engineer on Oster, Crockpot, Sunbeam and Holmes. Twenty products to market, four patents, and an Edison Award for the Ball FreshTECH canning appliance.

Then Fridababy — I joined as a project manager and left as Sr. Director of Engineering and Quality, having built the product development function from scratch: sourcing, engineering, quality and project management. Fifty-plus products to market, a second brand launched in Fridamom, and revenue up 300%.

Since 2021 I've run Accomplish independently. The principal engagement was Jordan Manufacturing: I ran their engineering, stood up their project management function, mentored the executive team, and delivered seven-figure savings through Lean and Six Sigma on their production lines.

I work fractionally by design. I have two young children and I'm the parent who does the school run, which is why one to two days a week suits me and a corner office doesn't. It also means that when I'm working on your product, I'm working on your product.

Tell me what's stuck. I'll tell you if I can fix it.

Twenty minutes, no obligation. If it isn't something I can help with, I'll say so and point you at someone who can.
